An online wine magazine called Palate Press recently devised a creative way to let oenophiles combine their passion for wine and a desire to help earthquake-ravaged Haiti. In a joint effort with charity-wine blog Brother, Can You Spare a Bottle?, Palate Press publisher David Honig has created a program called Wine for Haiti that lets collectors, wineries, or just us casual imbibers donate a special bottle of wine for auction. All funds from the winning bids go to the American Red Cross’s disaster relief efforts.

At last check, the online auction–which you can find here–featured no fewer than 17 wineries opening their hearts and cellars for the cause. Wine donations far outnumber bids, however, so get on there and find something to sip!
